Its not often I enjoy a band as much as them but this album is a masterpiece. To their credit, they've managed to sign with a more prominent label without it compromising their style, sound or integrity. Props for putting this into the world.

Monday, March 19, 2007

they love the walks in the park!

<IMG style="BORDER-TOP-WIDTH: 0px;
If you've been to look at my photos you'd have gathered that
we're (Simone and I) are expecting a baby. Tomorrow we may (or may not) find
out whether it's male or female. Of course they may be wrong and we might get a
different opinion in four weeks time so I’m taking it as it comes. My guess is
that it’s a girl but I’d be over the moon with either.

This evening Alber, Simone and I went to a talk by Dr John F.
Demartini and I was pleasantly surprised. I expected a futurist, an economist, a
motivational speaker, I’m not sure what I expected but I certainly arrived
expecting to hear an affirmation of what I already knew delivered with a side
salad, cappuccino and a mint - well-oiled, slickly marketed personality. I’m
not sure why my guard was up since the reason I went was that I had been impressed
with an interview with him on 702. Anyway, well-oiled he was, at least well
practiced. Well read, definitely. And well marketed, branded and merchandised but
somehow what he said really sank in and resonated. Like higher-grade common
sense. Like the truth well told. I’d definitely consider going on one of his
programmes, just not the R20,000 one!
